performance at Horch Beirut - commissioned by "VOLUME"

To avoid the great heat of the Sun is kept in the Night, and by the light of the Moon: an inexistent book catalogue.

Performance description:

A group of performers meet and read titles of books that do not exist, are fictional, or were not accomplished, nor published, in other words, books that can’t find a place in the library.

The reading started inside the Horsh (Park) in the afternoon. A utopic place, the Hursh (being closed for the general public still in 2014 for "geopolitical reasons"), would be the ideal location. The readings continue scattered in the Horch until midnight.

We arranged a permission for a small public to enter the Horch until this hour, and despite that the Horch is supopsed to be closed for the big public.

The reading will terminate at midnight.

This work was commissionned by "Volume"- a project revolving around the Public libraries in Lebanon, initiated by Sara Giannini and Per Hüttner among other, and in collaboration with Assabil libraries in Beirut Lebanon - 2014.

Reading performers:

Mounira Al Solh, Sawsan Bou Khaled, Per Hüttner, Jessika Khazrik, Nesrine Khodr, May Qassem, Fadi el Tofeili, Andrea Verdecchia.
